Meet a Marmorkreb.
Isn’t it cute?
It was discovered in the pet trade in Germany in the 1990s.
Now, there are millions of Marmorkrebs in the world.
They are everywhere!
All these millions Marmorkrebs are nothing other than clones of that very first Marmorkreb.
It can reproduce itself without the male species.
All its female clones can also do so.
Scientists call it parthenogenesis.
It looks like Marmorkrebs will conquer the world one day, won’t they?
Actually, they might!
But there is one thing.
As all Marmorkrebs are 100% alike,
if we study the vulnerabilities of just one Marmorkreb,
we will know how to destroy the entire species.
Remember the lesson of the Marmorkreb.
Let others be different from you.
